Protein after training: how much and when

Protein after training is not magic but part of your daily intake. How much you get across the day matters more than the exact minute after training.

How much

General guidance for athletes lists 1.2–2.0 g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day, spread over meals of about 0.3 g per kilogram, after training and every few hours (Thomas et al., 2016; Jäger et al., 2017). For a 70 kg person that is about 21 g per meal.

When

A protein meal after training is practical, but the daily total and how it is spread matter more than the exact moment. If your last meal was recent, there is no rush.

What is in Honey Bee Power whey

According to the producer’s presentation: whey protein (91–92%), dried honey (6%), stevia and gum arabic. A 33 g serving has about 22 g of protein. Contains milk. It is not sweetened with honey alone. We are confirming the pack label.
